About
Stepping-stones to success
To be successful in small business, you need a clear picture of where you’re going and how to get there. Like stepping-stones carefully arranged across a river, you need a path to follow.
Without this path, businesses tend to drift. They focus on short term tasks and day to day challenges. They lose sight of the bigger picture. The stones become scattered; the path becomes lost.
At Small Business Clarity we help you sort through the stepping-stones of your business, creating strategies and actions to achieve your short and long term goals. We help you navigate the different parts of your business – the financials, your sales and marketing, and the delivery of your product or service.
We treat each element separately, selecting and turning each stone over, assessing where they fit best. We test existing assumptions and help you sort through your ideas for growing and developing your business.
To do this, we:
- use a common sense approach – preferring simple language to business jargon, and practical solutions to business theory
- support and encourage, rather than criticise and challenge
- use intuitive questioning to get to the real issues
- use easy to understand, yet powerful templates to analyse and plan
- bring fresh perspective and balance to your business
But above all, we cut through the confusion to bring clarity. We help your business run more smoothly, carefully arranging the stones so they fall easily into place.
If you feel your business is drifting and you need help bring clarity and structure to your short and long term goals, it’s time to talk to Small Business Clarity. Click here now to contact us and let’s talk

out Jan Delmas – Founder of Small Business Clarity
Thank you for taking the time to discover more about my business, Small Business Clarity.
I have over 25 years of knowledge, skills and experience in business and have had my own small business for over 10 years.
My background has been mostly in large financial services organisations, leading and coaching project and change management teams. This is where managing and working with cross functional teams has honed my people, communication, time and financial management skills.
Although I’m known for my easy going and flexible style, as a mentor coach I don’t let you lose focus on what you want and need to do. I will make you think outside of the box and help you become more confident, collaborative and resourceful in the way you live and work. You will always have my undivided attention in all of our conversations.
We will explore your work habits and identify what’s supporting and helping you and alternatively what’s holding you back. We’ll then look at problem solving alternatives and transform ideas into actions and results. This can be done through mentor coaching or facilitation of workshop sessions.
I’m a member of International Coaching Federation of Australasia and an accredited practitioner in Extended DISC, Conflict Dynamics Profile and MetaStates (Neurosemantics). I also have a Bachelor of Business Administration majoring in accounting and finance which I’ve found extremely helpful in my own business and helping others understand the need to stay on top of your finances as well as Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
I am also a member of Australian Institute of Management NSW and ACT, Warringah Chamber of Commerce, Inspiring Women and Womens Network Australia plus other networking and online groups.
I am a volunteer mentor as part of the NSW Government Industry and Investment program for small businesses and was recently a mentor on the Over 45 Entrepreneur Mentor Program on the Northern Beaches. I am currently a mentor for the Women in Business and Young Entrepreneurs Mentor Programs as well as the Online SmallBiz program sponsored by the North Sydney Institute TAFE (NSW).
Over the past few years and with technology the way it is today, I’ve taken it upon myself to become more involved in Web 2.0 and social media and discovered how the internet can be a great friend to a small business.
I have published five books (with more to come) about using creativity to boost business and profits. Combine this with numerous articles on subjects such as creative thinking, idea management and collaborative teams and you can see I like to share what I have learnt and know – I believe that sharing is caring!
I also have a couple of other websites, including www.simplesynergy.com.au on team coaching and my blog www.creativeinfopreneur.com which shows hints and tips on how to stay creative as an entrepreneur.
I look forward to working with you.
